It is all natural that when your kids come back from school, the first thing they are looking for is something to eat. After they return from a tiring day at school, their bodies and bodies both are craving for some instant energy. As a general rule of thumb, chose only natural and not processed foods as after school snacks. Try avoiding fats and sugar. It is also a healthy idea to avoid foods rich in colors and preservatives. A healthy way is to encourage your children to dip their vegetables and fruits in peanut butter to add flavor.

It is a sad fact that there are many snacks specifically targeted at kids but which are by no means the best after school snacks for them. It is your responsibility as a parent to keep your open for foods which are not good for your kids.
